Fritz und Maria Hofmann Preis 2017 to Leo Bahr

In July 2017, Leo Bahr was awarded the "Fritz und Maria Hofmann Preis" by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the FAU Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Lerch during the faculty's graduation ceremony. The prize is conferred to outstanding theses, that contributed to publications in scientific journals. This year it honored Mr. Bahr's Master thesis on a Raman sensor for high-pressure extraction processes, which led to two international publications.

BEST POSTER AWARD AT CBI-SYMPOSIUM TO JULIAN SCHUSTER

The poster contribution "Non-invasive Determination of Transport Properties and Solubilities for (compressed) CO2/Polyol-Mixtures" by Julian J. Schuster et al. was awarded with the Best Poster Award at the 1st CBI-Symposium 2017 in Erlangen.

CFS Jerry King BEST POSTER AWARD AT EMSF 2017 TO TOBIAS KLIMA

For the second time the CFS Jerry King Poster Award was conferred upon a member of the ARS Lab: "Insights into Hydrogen Bonding: Ambient to Supercritical Conditions" by Tobias C. Klima et al. was awarded at the 16th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal.

SPIE Thesis Award to Leo Bahr

On July 1st, 2016, the SPIE Thesis Award was conferred by the president of the SPIE student chapter Lukas Kreis on Leo Bahr during the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Engineering of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). Leo Bahr received this award for his Master thesis "Konstruktion und Erprobung eines Ramansensors für das online und in situ Monitoring von Hochdruckextraktionsprozessen". Since April 2016 he has been working as a doctoral researcher in the ARS-Lab.

CFS Jerry King BEST POSTER AWARD AT EMSF 2016 TO CHRSTINE HOLZAMMER

The poster contribution "Determination of Gas Hydrate Concentration in Water-CO2-Mixtures by Raman Spectroscopy" by Christine C. Holzammer et.al. was awarded with the CFS Jerry King Poster Award at the 15th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids 2016 in Essen. 

Wolfgang-Finkelnburg-Preis to Andreas Bräuer

On November 4th, 2015, during the DIES ACADEMICUS, which is the annual birthday celebration event of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), the Wolfgang-Finkelnburg-Preis’2015 has been conferred on Andreas Bräuer. The Award is endowed by the Universitätsbund Erlangen-Nürnberg e.V. and is conferred by the Faculty of Engineering of FAU for an outstanding Habilitation.

2nd place for lecture given by Andreas Bräuer in TechFak ranking

The lecture Engineering Thermodynamics II (lecture: 3hours/week; exercise: 1hour/week), which was held by Andreas Braeuer during the summer semester 2015 scored the second place in the ranking of the obligatory lectures evaluated by more than 20 students at the Faculty of Engineering. In this category it was place 2 amongst 24 lectures.

ERC Starting Grant awarded to Andreas Braeuer

The European research council (ERC) evaluation panels, composed of independent experts, have favourably reviewed and recommended for funding the proposal "Micro-scale inhomogeneities in compressed systems and their impact onto the PROCESS functioning chain and the PRODUCT-characteristics" submitted by Andreas Braeuer to the ERC-Starting-Grant-2014 Call.

This means that the above mentioned project will be financially supported by the ERC with 1.9 million Euros till 2020. The project is supposed to start in March 2015 and will cover research with respect to gas hydrates, microemulsions, the supercritical anti-Solvent process and the mixture generation in diesel engines.

Less than 10 % of the proposals submitted to the ERC panel PRODUCS and PROCESSES were recommended for funding.

Certification of Excellence in Reviewing

In May 2014 Andreas Braeuer was awarded the "Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing" by "The Journal of Supercritical Fluids" in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the quality of the journal.

has been identified as the best poster at the 2014 annual meeting of the German society of maxillofacial surgery, which took place 11th-14th June in Mainz, Germany.

Best poster award in "Frontiers in Polymer science" to Maria Giovanna Patore Carbone

The poster contribution "Probing mass transport and molecular interaction in Poly(ε-caprolactone)-carbon dioxide solutions by using Raman line imaging" by

M.G. Pastore Carbone, P. Musto, E. Di Maio, O. Knauer, A. Braeuer, G. Mensitieri

has been identified as the best poster at the Third International Symposium Frontiers in Polymer Science which was held in May 21-23, 2013, in Sitges in Spain.

 

The presented results origin from a collaboration between,

  • Institute of Research and Technology of Plastic Materials, National Research Council of Italy, Italy;

and have partially been carried out in the ARS-Laboratory of SAOT.

 

“Dechema-Young-Academics-Award 2012” goes to Dr. Andreas Bräuer

During the opening ceremony of the annual meeting of the ProcessNet in Karlsruhe on September 11th, one out of three “Dechema-Young-Academics-Awards 2012” was conferred on Dr.-Ing. Andreas Braeuer, head of the ARS laboratory.

 

The research achievements of Dr. Andreas Bräuer comprise especially the development and the application of optical measurement techniques for the in situ analysis of high pressure process technologies. Currently, Dr. Andreas Bräuer is heading a research group at the chair of Engineering Thermodynamics and is member of the directors’ board of the Erlangen Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies, both institutions at the Friedrich-Alexander Universität- Erlangen-Nürnberg.

The ProcessNet subsection “High Pressure Technology” decorated Dr. Andreas Bräuer with the Professor-Siegfried-Peter-Award for outstanding, future oriented, sustainable and published achievements

During the annual meeting of the ProcessNet subsection “High Pressure Technology” -March 2nd, 2012 in Hamburg- the Professor-Siegfried-Peter-Award has been conferred to Dr. Andreas Bräuer. The Professor-Siegfried-Peter-Award is conferred by the ProcessNet subsection “High Pressure Technology” on behalf of the Professor-Siegfried-Peter-Foundation for outstanding, future oriented, sustainable and published achievements in the field of high pressure process engineering.

The Professor-Siegfried-Peter-Foundation –and with this the Professor-Siegfried-Peter-Award- has been established by the chair of Separation Science and Technology (Prof. Wolfgang Arlt) and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in agreement with the widow Käte Peter and his son Dr. Wolfgang Peter. The conferment of the award aims to recall that Professor-Siegfried-Peter, while he has been chair professor for Chemical Engineering, has given sustainable distinction to High Pressure Engineering in Germany and in Europe as exemplary researcher and teacher.
