PD Dr.-Ing. habil. Andreas Bräuer (in English Andreas Braeuer)

Andreas Bräuer has been the head of the Applied Raman Scattering (ARS) Laboratory since 2006 (before 2007 the ARS Lab was called Process Diagnostics Laboratory) and board member of the SAOT directors since 2007.

He received the Dr.-Ing degree with distinction from the faculty of engineering of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in the topic engineering thermodynamics in 2007 for which he was awarded the Dr.-thesis award for the distinguished thesis from the faculty of engineering in 2008.

In 2012 he was awarded the Professor-Siegfried-Peter-Award conferred by the ProcessNet subsection “High Pressure Technology” for excellent, future oriented, sustainable and published achievements and the Young Academics Award conferred by the ProcessNet section “Education and Innovation".

In 2014 he completed his habilitation in engineering thermodynamics "in situ Raman spectroscopy for high pressure process technology" and became Privatdozent (University teacher) at the faculty of engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Later, in 2015 the Wolfgang-Finkelnburg-Preis was conferred on him for his habilitation by the Faculty of Engineering of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.

In 2014 he successfully applied for an ERC Starting Grant. The project started in May 2015.

Andreas Braeuer wrote a text book "In situ spectroscopic techniques at high pressure", which was published by Elsevier in December 2015 within the book series "Supercritical Fluid Science and Technology".

His research aims at understanding complex mechanisms in chemical engineering processes using optical measurement techniques which are specially configured for the respective measurement tasks.
